As I child, those gigantic brown-colored NP lorries fascinated me a lot. I remember reading in my mind, the names of the states it traveled, written in the columns on its body – Maharashtra | Andra Pradesh | Orissa | West Bengal and so on...
I used to envy those lorry drivers and dreamed of becoming
one when I grow up. I believed it was one of the easiest ways to visit places.
Ahhh… those days when dreams were not associated with money!
What was your dream, as a child?
PS: This post is part of the Write Tribe Festival of Words 2. The challenge is seven posts in seven days and this is the seventh (and the last) one in the series, on the theme Dreams.

i wanted to become a teacher when i was 6. then dreams changed...
I had that dream too. I just love traveling. And still envy the life that these lorry drivers live. They go all around and get paid for it too. Too good a job if you ask me.!!
I had a dream of owning a library and sitting and reading a book for the whole day and do nothing. Actually I dream of it even now :)
Lorry driver? Ha ha.. A book shop was my dream.. Or at least a stationery shop.
:) I really liked the touch of humour in some of your posts...
As I liked the smell of books and new pencils and pens, the stationery shop was like a little heaven for me...and I always wanted to own one! I still do!
The lorry driver has a really tough job - yes the innocence of children.
Love it..I was fascinated with planes as they flew high beyond ma house. I dream of becoming an actor..I still do:)
I remember I told my teacher in 2nd grade that I wanted to be a robber. Well I always wanted to be the robber when we played 'Kallan and Police'
lovely post
the last line those days when dreams were not associated with money is true
i had dreams of being an astronaut
and the funny one was of my friends
who after reading a few detective stories wanted to be detectives
they conveniently found a suspect....who came to live in a locked house ....in neighborhood
he seemed different talked to no one and stayed home throughout day
my friends took turns watching the fellow missing tutions ....their dream ended when teacher contacted
mother of one of them ...a couple of slaps bring out the truth and ended their dreams
the suspect had come to work in the steel factory from other state
he talked to no one as he had no friends plus difficulty with language
and slept through the day as he worked in a night shift
thanks
